This position is accountable of the efficient installation, repair, and maintenance of high-speed food manufacturing machinery and equipment in a high-volume, fast- paced manufacturing environment.

HEAT EXCHANGER/UTILITIES

  • Ensure that all Alberta safety codes, procedures, policies, and regulations are followed.
  • Monitor alarms, gauges, and other instruments associated with plant operations and as per Alberta regulations.
  • Ensure that equipment and processes operate at maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain a daily log of operation, maintenance, and safety activities on the utilities systems.
  • Help and actively participate in safety activities.

MAINTENANCE

  • Complies 100% with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  • Performs mechanic tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines, baggers, conveyors, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and take corrective action to prevent equipment or system failures.
  • Perform daily maintenance and repairs as requested by unscheduled work orders and/or department managers and supervisors and completes Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Comfortable with electrical & PLC Controls
  • Perform other duties as required.

What you bring to the table

  • Must possess a Class 4 Alberta power engineer certification- must have mechanical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Have 2 years' experience managing and troubleshooting boilers.
  • Additional certification as Millwright is an asset.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be proactive and help the department achieve its goals.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift as well as some extended hours and weekends.
