Senior Manager, Capital PMOMassillon, Ohio (Hybrid - Onsite T-Th)The
Senior Manager, Capital PMO plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of capital projects within the organization. This role involves overseeing the planning, implementation and tracking of various capital projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and meet quality standards.
Your Seat at the Table: - Developing and maintaining capital project portfolio management framework, including processes, standards, and tools.
- Collaborating with senior management to define strategic objectives and priorities for capital projects and translating them into actionable portfolio plans.
- Conducting regular portfolio reviews to assess project performance, prioritize initiatives and optimizing resource allocation.
- Monitoring portfolio-level key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards strategic goals and identify areas for improvement.
- Leading the development and implementation of portfolio-level governance mechanisms to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with organizational policies and standards.
- Developing and maintaining Capital stage gate processes and methodologies to ensure effective project execution.
- Providing guidance and support to project managers and teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitoring project progress and performance to identify potential risks and issues, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Providing regular reports to senior management on project status, milestones, and budget utilization.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline and optimize cross-functional business processes related to capital project management to drive greater efficiency, collaboration, and alignment across the organization.
- Standardizing and implementing use of project management tools and technology.
- Facilitate long and short-term capital project portfolio planning.
- Facilitate project prioritization to ensure doing the right projects that meet company's strategies.
- Facilitate capital project stage gate review meetings with key stakeholders to ensure alignment in every stage of the capital project life cycle.
- Provide project portfolio performance analysis and update to senior leadership.
- Provide training and coaching to capital project managers as needed.
What you Bring to the Table- +7 years of project management and/or comparable experience
- BA/BS in Business or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
- PMP or other certification is strongly desired.
- Outstanding communicator, verbal and written.
- Proven success in management of complex projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to details and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of capital equipment
- Strategic vision: having a clear understanding of the organization's strategic goals and how capital projects contribute to achieving them is essential. Success in this role requires the ability to align project portfolio with overarching business objectives.
- Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to plan, supervise, and drive task completion.
- Executive Presence. The ability to support and defend your decisions. Comfortable communicating formally and informally with senior executives.
- Strong technology and business acumen.
- Good stakeholder management skills, able to foster collaborative working relationships and influence management at all levels.
- Advanced organizational, analytical, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Advanced user of PM tools and the Microsoft Office product suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
