Travel: As Needed

Schedule: Days Mon -Fri average work hour per week 50. Will be expected to work some weekend and nights as needed.

Organizational Structure: This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Expectation: Employeesrepresent the company 24/7 their actions away from work affect the overall perception of the company. Employees must maintain a high level of Professionalism, Integrity, and Ethics always. Must comply with all company policies.

Area of Responsibility: North Shipping Warehouse, South Shipping Warehouse, Receiving Warehouse, Security, Plant Safety.

Safety Manager Responsibilities

  • Your Voice in Safety: Be the key liaison with the US Department of the Interior (OSHA), ensuring our workplace meets the highest safety standards.
  • Empower Through Training: Provide essential safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training to managers, supervisors, and hourly employees, making sure everyone is equipped to work safely.
  • Be the Watchful Eye: Conduct thorough workplace inspections to identify and report hazards, keeping our environment secure for all employees.
  • Celebrate Safety Achievements: Develop recognition systems that promote and reward safe work practices in daily performance.
  • Investigate and Innovate: Assist management and supervisors in investigating accidents and developing preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
  • Stay Transparent: Ensure all injury and illness claims are accurately recorded in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Log.
  • Support Safety Initiatives: Champion all Corporate Safety and Health projects and activities, aligning with our overall safety goals.
  • Data-Driven Safety: Provide weekly, periodic, and annual safety metrics data, helping us track and improve our safety performance.
  • Fire Safety First: Oversee annual fire alarm testing, ensuring systems are maintained and any faults are addressed immediately with the maintenance manager.
  • Suppression System Reliability: Ensure annual fire suppression system tests are completed and reports are up-to-date, collaborating with the maintenance manager for system reliability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Create PDM work orders to meet NASB regulations for both alarm and suppression systems.
  • Extinguisher Readiness: Ensure compliance with monthly fire extinguisher audits, ensuring they are always ready for use.
  • Preparedness Drills: Conduct and document semi-annual fire evacuation drills, ensuring everyone knows the plan in case of an emergency.
  • Foster a Safety Culture: Develop a workplace where everyone takes ownership of safety and follows safe work practices, aiming for a recordable injury rate (RIR) of less than 2% based on 200,000 hours worked.

Warehouse Manager Responsibilities

  • Maintain OSHA and DOT Compliance: Your leadership ensures our jockey drivers are always up-to-date with their CDL licenses and DOT Medical Fitness Physicals, keeping our operations running smoothly.
  • Switcher and Forklift Inspections: Imagine starting each shift with confidence, knowing that you've ensured the Switcher and forklifts are in top working order, ready for the day's challenges. Your meticulous documentation keeps us compliant and safe.
  • Operational Safety: Through your dedication, every warehouse employee is thoroughly trained and recertified in forklift operations. You foster a culture where safety isn't just a policy-it's a way of life.
  • Proactive Issue Resolution: When unsafe conditions arise, your prompt action and follow-through on work orders demonstrate your commitment to a hazard-free workplace. Addressing unsafe acts as soon as they occur showcases your vigilance.
  • Seamless Coordination: Your collaboration with Supply Chain and Customer Service teams ensures that appointments for deliveries and outbound schedules are optimized, reducing fleet traffic and enhancing efficiency.
