Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a dedicated team of quality assurance professionals, ensuring they reach their full potential.
- Ensure compliance with safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and sanitation rules, creating a safe environment for everyone.
- Conduct periodic audits to maintain top-notch product quality and promptly address any issues that arise.
- Investigate customer complaints and perform root cause analysis to enhance the customer experience.
- Coordinate and provide essential training for employees on quality and food safety programs.
- Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and repair of quality assurance equipment, ensuring everything operates smoothly.
- Supervise and monitor quality assurance tests for raw materials, bulk intermediates, and finished products to guarantee exceptional quality.
- Communicate issues and developments identified during quality assurance activities and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize metrics and data to evaluate and continuously improve quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Monitor, support, and enforce all food safety processes and procedures, including SQF, AIB, and customer-specific standards, to uphold the highest safety standards.
- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards to ensure compliance.
- Conduct verification/validation of preventative controls as a trained PCQI, contributing to our proactive approach to quality.
- Participate in internal audits and food safety inspections, ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.
- Review non-conforming materials and ensure product control is maintained to avoid any disruptions in quality.
- Support recall program activities, including trace exercises and mass balances, to prepare for any potential issues.
- Serve as HACCP Coordinator, playing a crucial role in maintaining food safety.
- Assist in implementing quality assurance improvement plans, driving continuous improvement.
- Plan and establish work schedules and assignments to meet and exceed performance standards.
- Coordinate scheduling to meet facility needs, ensuring smooth operations.
- Utilize standard work processes to ensure repeatable performance, contributing to our consistency and reliability.
- Monitor quality assurance goals to ensure they align with performance standards and drive excellence.
- Coordinate operations and activities within or between departments to foster collaboration and efficiency.
- Observe quality control equipment and products to ensure adherence to standards and expectations.
- Track employees' performance and attendance to meet metrics and ensure a high-performing team.
- Direct employees involved in the quality assurance process, guiding them toward success.
We're looking for someone with:
- High school or equivalent degree required; a 4-year bachelor's degree is preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance management or supervision role, preferably in the food processing industry. Experience may be used as a substitute for education
- Sanitation experience is a plus
